Measuring Instructions

Our easy-to-follow guide ensures accurate measurements for your new blinds. Simply follow the steps to get the perfect dimensions for a seamless fit every time.

Measuring 101: Inside vs. Outside Mount

Inside mount

Inside mount blinds fit inside the window frame, creating a clean, sleek look. They are often used when you have other window coverings, like curtains, and are a good choice if you want a tidy, minimal appearance. However, inside mounts don’t offer as much control over light since they fit within the frame.

Outside mount

Outside mount blinds are installed on the wall above or around the window. This option is great when the blinds are the only window covering and provides better light control by extending past the window. It’s ideal for full coverage.

Inside Mount

Step 1: Check the Window Frame Depth

Use a ruler or tape measure to find the depth of the window frame (front to back). The depth must be at least 6 cm to ensure the blind fits properly inside the frame. If it’s less than this, the blind might stick out or not mount securely.

Outside Mount

Step 1: Check Window Frame Fit

Ensure the window frame does not protrude from the wall by more than 1 cm. This is important because an outside mount blind needs a flat wall surface to attach securely. If the frame sticks out too far, the blind won’t sit flush against the wall.
